Cristobal Balenciaga Tribute.
Manufacturer Pertini shoes
Pertini was invited to participate in Cristobal Balenciaga, The Tribute exhibition in Milan, where pieces by Cristóbal Balenciaga are placed in dialogue with shoes specially designed for them by Spain's most renowned footwear manufacturers.
To bring this collaboration to life, Pertini’s creative team collaborated with NMASA Design to craft shoes that subtly reference the couturier’s techniques, style, and essence, while staying true to Pertini’s brand identity.
Inguma
For Inguma, we drew key inspiration from Cristóbal Balenciaga’s approach to reshaping the female silhouette through bold, oriental-inspired volumes and cuts, particularly from the 1940s onward. With this vision in mind, we sought to translate these concepts into footwear, softening anatomical lines with fluid shapes and sculptural volumes to create a new silhouette.
The result is a bold, sumptuous sandal with organic lines that not only embodies Pertini’s interpretation of the couturier’s essence but also reimagines the shoe as an exquisite piece of graphic expression.
Marfil
Cristóbal Balenciaga never designed shoes, yet he was known for his remarkable work with hats and headpieces—striking accessories of magical simplicity, yet executed with the highest level of craftsmanship, adding texture and depth to the complete outfit.
We chose to approach the shoe with the same reverence, creating a dialogue between the couturier's vision and Pertini’s craft. While delving into the archives of the @museobalenciaga, we discovered an exquisite piece made from natural leaves, whose geometric patterns and textures captivated us. From there, we translated these elements into leather—the essence of footwear design—creating a timeless piece that embodies the dreamlike vision of how the master might have conceived a shoe.
