Tulip.

Tulip is a collection of stackable stationery products full of character whose alternative visual language juxtaposes the austere look of the bare bent sheet, with an intricate design full of foldings and rounded edges.

Its design results from playful experimentation with metal-sheet bending. The project goal was to design an aesthetically-pleasing item whose functionality wasn't compromised, focusing just on this manufacturing process and avoiding any welded joints or fastening. Besides simplifying the object’s production, this constraint was a perfect excuse to trigger design innovation and test the limits of metal-sheet bending.

The collection was conceived as a long-lasting and high-quality desk-ware alternative produced by local manufacturers close to our studio in Malmö, Sweden. It is made out of stainless steel, and its surface has been powder coated for a maximal resistance.
